The awards, which recognise venues with "charisma, originality, style, innovation, sex appeal, authenticity, aspiration and uniqueness" were judged by a specially selected council of 20 figureheads, from blue-chip decision makers through to event organisers.

Holborn Bars faced stiff competition in its category, with the O2, Williams F1 Conference Centre and The Barbican amongst the list of finalists.
