Open to non-residents, Bramleys Brasserie provides relaxed surroundings in which to enjoy superb locally-sourced and inspired dishes.
This 120-seat restaurant, named after the Nottinghamshire Bramley apple, is located on the ground floor of the Orchard Hotel on the University of Nottingham's campus. The muted shades of light wooden furniture are perfectly complimented by natural shades of green, in keeping with the general decor of the Orchard hotel.
The menu, which changes seasonally, offers modern British cuisine with an emphasis on locally-sourced produce, many of which are influenced by the Bramley apple.
For starters, try slow poached duck egg, homemade Brioche and English asparagus.
Main courses include pork belly, stem broccoli, Pommes Anna and piccalilli jus, or try pan fried chicken, jersey royal potatoes, asparagus, lemon puree and tonka bean mayonnaise.
For dessert, tempt your tastebuds with rhubarb souffle, pistachio crumble, and apple sorbet.
An A La Carte menu is served between 6pm and 10pm (last orders at 9.30pm).
A bar menu is also served between 8am and 10:30pm. After this time a limited room service menu is available.
