Chessington World of Adventures

Chessington World of Adventures is a theme park and zoo in south-west London. It lies 12 miles from Central London, close to the A3 and M25 (junction 9 or 10).

The park has a selection of attractions, ranging from the brand new Kobra thrill ride in Wild Asia, to family-oriented rides such as the Bubbleworks. It also has over 1,000 animals, many of which can be seen from the Safari Skyway, an elevated monorail around the Zoo.

River Wey and Godalming Navigations and Dapdune Wharf

The Wey was one of the first British rivers to be made navigable, and opened to barge traffic in 1653. This 15-mile waterway linked Guildford to Weybridge on the Thames, and then to London.

Box Hill

Hampton Court Palace

Visitors are offered an introductory exhibition, a guide through Tudor kitchens, a costume guide tour, and the opportunity to see the Queen’s state apartments, the King’s apartments and the Wolsey and Georgian rooms.

One of the most impressive sights is the Great Hall, Englands last and greatest medievel hall, decorated with sumptuous tapestries. Outside you can try not to get lost in the worlds most famous maze or visit the Privy garden restored to its 1702 glory.  Refreshments can be found in either the coffee shop, café or by taking your own picnic.

London 2012 Olympic Games at Wimbledon

Distance: 15.01 miles

A total of 172 athletes will compete in five events over nine days, with sessions running from 11:00am to about 20:00pm each day.

Tickets will go on sale next year with up to 26,000 spectators able to attend every day.

The final programme of events has yet to be decided but the provisional plan is for the tennis to be spread across nine days of competition between 28 July and 5 August.

Matches will played on 12 courts including Centre, Court One and Court Two, with the new Court Three used for warming-up, and they will be played over the best-of-three sets, except for the men's singles final which will be best of five.
